how much would it cost to open a restaurant from scratch?

This is just for a school project. So I don’t need a huge response. Just the price totally the chairs, tables, staff, the food, silver wear napkins, dishes, cooks, everything needed to cook the food, lighting, and stuff like that. Thank you so so much!

If you’re buying a turn-key restaurant, most of all that will be in place. I don’t know what area you’re in, but it ran me about $200K. If you redoing the place or building from scratch, go $600K to a million.

How big of a restaurant? Mom and Pop diner, fast food, or fancy place? New York City, or a small town in Nebraska? Will it serve any alcohol? There are laws saying what facilities a restaurant needs according to how many people it seats, whether it serves alcohol, etc etc, and those laws vary from place to place. Are you renting a space that’s equipped as a restaurant already, converting a building to a restaurant, building a new building? This is not a simple question to answer.
