Need Ideas on nice but not too complicated recipe for a romantic dinner?

Hi, I am making this romantic dinner for my boyfriend who I am crazy in love with, but we have been going thru a hard time in our lives so I want to cook something have candles and music and all that but I am not a great cook, but I think that it would be very nice to do it myself instead of going to a restaurant like we usually do. So if you have any ideas on recipes and not only for that but for the night as well, I’d be so happy to hear them… Thank you!

Guys like simply hearty food with meat.

How about getting some boneless skinless chicken thighs (they’re tastier than breasts), poke them a bunch of times with a fork and marinate them in the fridge overnight in some Italian dressing, the kind that looks like oil and vinegar with floaties in it.

Grill the chicken on a George Forman for 5 minutes or so or bake in in the oven at 350F until a meat thermometer stuck in the middle reads the temp at 160F

Buy some "steam in the bag" snap peas, follow the instructions, very easy.

Peel and cut into 1-2" chunks, a couple pounds of potatoes. Boil them until they are soft, drain, then whip them up with a LOT of butter, a little milk and a LOT of shredded cheese.

To make it even better, sautee some crushed up garlic in butter or olive oil for five minutes on medium heat and add that all to the spuds.

This is food that will make any man’s man happy and is difficult to screw up.

    Good Luck!

    Pie:- Fish
    2 Fish Fillets. (Red Cod)
    1 Fish Fillet. (Smoked)
    1 Large Leek. (Roughly Chopped)
    2 Cups Peas.
    1 Medium Onion. (Roughly Chopped)
    4 Eggs. (Hard Boiled)
    Mashed Potatoes.
    Cheese. (Grated)
Cut fish into bight sized pieces and poach in milk for a few minutes until nearly cooked. Drain and reserve milk.
Lightly fry the onions and leeks for a few minutes to soften a little.
Stir in the milk and simmer until onion and leeks are nearly cooked.
Thicken a little to make a sauce.
Arrange fish in a casserole dish, top with peas, chopped egg and spoon in the leeks and onions and a little of the sauce.
Top with mashed potatoes, sprinkle with grated cheese (tasty/sharp) (optional)**
Bake in a 180C (350F) oven until it is bubbling and the cheese has begun to colour.
**At this point it could be kept in the fridge for later or the next day covered..

Perhaps some garlic bread and marinated tomatoes as a salad. http://www.elise.com/recipes/archives/00… A touch of grated romano cheese on the top just before it’s done would be nice.

For dessert, a romantic parfait for two. http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Two-Berry-Parfaits/Detail.aspx Change the number of servings to two instead of six.
