Does anyone know the recipe for the Eclairs in this Movie?
Has anyone ever seen the movie "Simply Irresistible" it stars Sean Patrick Flanery, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Patricia Clarkson, Dylan Baker, and Larry Gilliard Jr. Just some of the main characters. Its about: A young restaurant owner/chef named Amanda (Gellar) who has always longed to make amazing food just like her mother. She then meets Tom (Flanery) who is shyed away from love but manages to fall in love with the food Amanda cooks up for him. They spend of the rest of the movie having laughs, food encounters, and falling in love. What I want to know is..does anyone know the recipe that was used to make the eclairs that she cooks and becomes famous for?? I would love to make them and I can’t find the recipe anywhere.
Im making dinner for my boyfriend tomorrow: what should i make?
I want to make dinner for my boyfriend but i don’t know what to make.
My boyfriend is Mexican. We work together in a Japanese restaurant where he cooks.
I tried asking him what he wanted me to cook but he said to cook whatever i want.
I don’t make a lot so I need something inexpensive and nothing too complicated.
Also i made a custard for dessert so something that will go good with that.
Also please include suggestions for sides. Thanks so much
What would cause vegetables to taste bitter?
My husband ate lunch at a restaurant with his co-workers today. He had complained that the vegetables tasted extremely bitter. Unfortunately since my husband hates to waste food, he decided to go ahead and eat them. Later he complained of a stomach ache. Could it be possible that the cooks did not rinse out their pot well enough and accidentally left some cleaning solution in it? What other possibilites do you think might have caused this. Your help is appreciated.
I have a question about cooking in a large restaurant?
I wonder if anyone has felt this way before when starting a job. I just recently got hired in as a cook and I have worked about 5 days now but I still don’t get some of what there is to get. I have already gone through training and i am basically starting on my own tomorrow. in those 5 days, i had to memorize about 8 or 9 salads (ranging from 5 to 10 ingredients each), all the fried counts and sauces that go on every fried dish, where everything is, how each plate is set up, how to read the computer screen (i.e. if its to-go or "no" something) how to close, and basically be able to multitask and do 3 to 10 things at once most of the time. I just don’t feel like i have had the time in to learn all of the stuff, and i dont feel ready to cook on my own. One other thing is the fact that the other cooks sometimes have to tell me what to get or do because i dont read it or remember what to do or get for every order (my memory isnt the greatest) I just wonder if anyone else has had this experience before and if so, do they think it will come to me eventually because i am getting kind of worried.. they said i should have it all down by now and i myself know i am kind of a slow learner but i have worked other jobs (not actually cooking but dishwashing and prep cooking) and i have done great there but i have a bad feeling about this one. i am learning slowly and SLOWLY getting better but i am far from being able to cook at this fast paced environment and know EVERYTHING. i will give 10 points for best answer.
I’m a "fry cook" at a large corporate chain but there’s quite a bit more to it than just frying stuff
"them" meaning managers, and some other cooks
what is the procedure a restaurant must follow regarding raw meat?
for instance, i have seen some cooks serving cooked food right after handling raw meat, is that safe? or is there any guideline or law that forces cooks to wash their hands after handling raw food?
How do I create this glaze-y top coat on the cheesecake?

It looks restaurant quality! But the recipe did not say how to make the glazed part on top. What do I need to do to create that fabulous raspberry glaze?
