Is it still vegetarian if it's cooked with meat?
For example. Let’s say you go to a FF restaurant and buy a wrap but it has chicken in it. You remove the chicken. Is it vegetarian?
Or if your family is cooking something like meat with potatoes in it. They give you the potatoes but it was cooked with meat. Is that vegetarian?
I’m unsure. It technically has no fish, red meat, or poultry in it but it probably is soaked with meat juices.
What are some simple and cheap ways to add flavor to your baked fish?
I mostly eat tilapia, and flounder. When I order fish at a restaurant its always so good, but when I bake it I find it to taste rather bland. Any tips on how I can spice it up without adding unhealthy stuff. Im eating more fish to stay healthy and help with weight loss. Thanks in advance. Keep in mind that im not a good cook, and on a budget.
How do you steam a fish Chinese-banquet style?
Whenever I try to steam a fish, the skin peels off and the inside is still raw. By the time it’s cooked, it’s mushy and ugly. In a restaurant, the skin is still intact and the fish is still in one piece. This is how I’ve been steaming it. I cut slits on the fish, place it on a stove top steamer that’s already boiling and steaming. At the same time I boil hot oil and soy sauce. After the fish is done, I pour the oil mixture over the fish with scallions. But the steaming part is still a mystery. Thanks!
How much do restaurants pay for the fish they cook ?
Where do restaurants buy their fish from ? How much ?
(Taiwan) How do you prepare Ti Pan Sao (pronounced: Tie2 Pan3 Sao1)? What cooking instruments, ingredients,…
Ti Pan Sao is a Chinese cooking method. Restaurants use a square metal plate (3m x 0.5 m or longer). It’s usually not rectangular, instead it’s bended into a semi circle so that customers can sit on the other side to eat while facing the cook.
The metal plate is used for cooking. Once cooking is done, it is served on a plate. You get a bowl of rice, a bowl of soup, and some vegetables served with the type of food (you can choose from: beef, pork, lamb, fish) that you order. Tea is free.
You can get all that at the same price of one meal at the Mc Donalds. And it’s delicious.
What’s it secret?
I ate mahi mahi fish and broke out in hives. Cook at restaurant asked me right away where I grew up at…?
He said Midwesterners don’t tolerate a strong, heavy fish like that. I have eaten tuna and pollock with no problems, but he said that they are mild fish. Is he right about the mahi mahi?
