How do i cook shrimp?
Basically i have a bag of frozen shrimp should i thaw it before i cook it or cook it frozen(it’s sorta already thawing as we speak so a quick answer can’t hurt : )
also is it best to boil it or to steam it, I kept looking on the internet for these answers but all i ever find are recipes for some complicated stuff with lots of garlic and butter (icK) i like my shrimp plain and hot that i can peel myself(like the stuff you find at a chinese restaurant) anyway i guess my big question is is it better to boil it or steam it? and for how long, do i add salt if i boil it? etc that kind of stuff
Looking for a way to roast an entire clove of garlic.?
I used to work in this restaurant and one of the menu items was a whole, oven-roasted clove of garlic that once out of the oven, it was served w/focaccia, greek olives, roasted red peppers, hummus and goat cheese. The garlic was cooked so perfectly you could spread it like buttah. Any tips?
what is expected as a prep cook?? i have no experience in cooking?
So i decided to get myself into culinary arts. To be honest, im a late bloomer, although i always loved and appreciated good food, i never really thought of becoming a chef, till recently. I probrably cooked 2 proper meals in my life. Pasta, and crab with garlic. The pasta was aryt, but the crab with garlic sucked. As i said, i just enrolled myself in culinary school which starts next month. For the time being, i decided to get a head start by working in my brother’s friends restaurant. As a dishwasher, or anything as long as i am in the kitchen. I spoke to the chef today, and he said ill be doing some basic prep. What im worried about is i only started learning to chop 3 days ago. Should i be expected to know how to chop properly already as a prep cook? I was expecting to be a dishwasher, but apparently, he said i was gona be in prep.
What are your favourite fried chicken wings?
Are they cooked by yourself or do you have a favourite restaurant from which they come from? Being a fast food junkie, I still love KFC and Popeye’s. But my mum makes really great garlic fried chicken wings with mustard. ![]()
Gillian: I don’t have the exact amounts, but the chicken is coated using a usual powder mixture of garlic, bread crumbs, flour, salt. Chilli flakes are added, and sesame oil is used for deep frying.
Whats's a sauce for cooked spinach that even a bachelor can do?
I like cooked spinach. But what can I put on it? I’ve been doing butter and garlic. But what else?
There was an asian peanut sauce I had on spinach in a restaurant once. Can I buy that somewhere?
This is for a bachelor, remember so it has to be easy.
