What are some easy Korean Dishes to make?
My fiance is Korean, and I wanna cook dinner for her family. Her mom owns a Korean restaurant, so I’m sure their standards are fairly high, too.
I know there’s lots of side dishes and all that… And I’m a damn good cook myself, but I’ve never tried making Korean food.
Oh, and her mom doesn’t eat meat, but she does eat sea food.
Mom's cooking?
It’s often said that nothing measures up to your Mom’s home cooking.
But how much does that still hold up in this day an age?
My mom only know how to make one thing and I don’t like it.
All the rest of my food growing up was takeout/restaurants/frozen dinners
How is it for you?
Inclue you age in you answer because I’m curious to see the age relation to the answer. I’m 19
Need some help on cooking/preping oysters fast!?
So my mom bought some oysters at the store i believe 1 or 2 days ago and she stuck em in the freezer. I really wanna make em quick because i dont think they would last long in the freezer right? or so i think. Anyway, since they are frozen whats the best way to cook em or prep em. When i eat them its usually at a restaurant and eat em raw. They serve em cold in there own juices and just add some lime, salt, beer, and hot sauce and YUM! So can i do this with frozen oysters if so how? and if not then how else can i make em.
Thanks!
Just wanted to add, to thaw em out, how should i do this. Would it be ok to place them in a bowl of water (submerged) and let them sit in the fridge until tomorrow around 4pm is when everyones home to eat and right now its 12:50am. Im thinking maybe just cook em on the grill since they arent shucked and i dont know how to shuck em.
SCREW IW IMA TOSS THEM AND BUY NEW ONES to much doubts thanks though guys.
How authentic are the ethnic restaurants in the U.S.?
Obviously Taco Bell doesn’t count as good Mexican food, lol. I’m curious to hear from people who are in the US from other countries…If you’re Chinese, for example…How authentic is the food served at a standard Chinese restaurant in America? Same question to everyone else…Japanese, Mexican, Italian, etc.
Also, does anyone know of some really, REALLY good Mexican food in the Metro-Atlanta area? We have a large number of Mexican immigrants here, and there are tons of Mexican restaurants, but most of them are chains, and I try to steer clear of chain restaurants. I’m looking for a little dumpy, hole-in-the-wall, mom and pop restaurant that’s family owned and has the 80-year-old grandmother there cooking…refried beans made with lard instead of Crisco, etc. Can anyone help me out??
Boil Italian Sausage in tomato sauce?
I don’t know anything about cooking but Ive been making some instant meatballs lately and my mom said just let them sit in the tomato sauce for a while.
So can I do this with Italian sausage, It sounds like its what they do in restaurants. and do I have to cook it on a pan first, or could I just throw it in raw.
Where are the proprietors of Ronnie's Restaurant that was acros the street from the high school in Norman, OK
Their last name was Shannan (I think) and they told me they were Palestinian. They were in Norman in the mid 80’s.They made the best food I have ever eaten. Ronnie was their son and he was a really nice guy, lifted weights and I think he went to OU. He had a younger sister who was a math whiz. Their mom cooked everything from scratch. They were some of the finest people to walk the planet and regretfully, I’ve lost touch with them. I think someone told me that they moved to Dallas.
